Fresh Ideas and Crisp Content give CFF Ltd Food for Thought

CFF turned to Jigsaw DPM to develop a stunning web presence that would stand out from their competitors and provide their customers with a user friendly experience when they were searching for the ingredients they required.

With a full understanding of the company and what they wanted to achieve from their website, we started development. This included the creation of wireframes and visuals to give CFF an idea of what could be achieved, as well as a proposed site map so that we understood how the site would fit together.

Supporting Local Talent

Supporting local talent

We are continuing to sponsor local squash star, Ashley Davies in his pursuit of glory. Currently in the world’s top 150 squash players, Ashley is gaining experience by playing higher ranking players in tournaments around the world, and working with his mentor world number 3, and former number 1, Nick Matthew.

Having had a hard summer of training, Ashley’s season has got off to a winning start with him notching up his first PSA World Tour title beating world number 90 and tournament number one seed, Arthur Gaskin, in the final, coming back from 2 games to 1 down.

Up next for Ashley are tournaments in the USA, France and Manchester, along with domestic league matches, and a couple of exhibition matches and training sessions with British armed forces based in Cyprus.

And if all that wasn’t enough, Ashley is studying part-time for a university degree in Sports Journalism. We wish him continued success in all his ventures.

Jigsaw gets a new piece

As Jigsaw DPM continues to grow, we have recently taken the opportunity to add an additional piece to our team. This piece is in the form of Sarah Gardner, who is joining us as Sales and Account Management Executive.

Sarah brings with her more than 20 years’ experience of working in business, with a strong understanding of account management and customer service.

We’re thrilled that Sarah is now part of our team, and she can’t wait to speak to you, our customers, helping us to piece together the right solutions for you, and ensuring complete satisfaction from the services we offer.

Full power ahead for rebrand

Developing a new brand is always an exciting prospect so when we were asked to rebrand a growing business in a relatively short timescale we were certainly up for the challenge.

When approached by leading power system specialist, Power Control Ltd, we knew from the onset that time wasn’t on our side. However, having previously worked with the Derbyshire based company we were confident that we already had a good understanding of their business and what made them tick and were aware of their requirements.

It promised to be a complex and interesting project as it included reviewing and developing the whole brand following a recent change in the company’s operations. PCL has been a prominent and highly influential emergency power authority for more than two decades and so the rebrand needed to build on its reputation whilst also giving it a fresh new look to reflect its growing status.

From the creation of icons through to the development of a completely new website, we worked closely with the company to craft a new brand. Our designers devised different options before the innovative new brand was unveiled complete with new icons, logo, colour palette and artwork.

As part of the comprehensive branding project we designed and produced corporate signage, for both indoors and outdoors, and devised printed material including business cards, letterheads and folders with inserts.

We also put together targeted and attention grabbing magazine adverts and produced newly branded marketing products including lanyards and stress cubes before completing the new website too - and all within the short deadline. Our creative commercial photographer, meanwhile, put together a library of new photographic images that perfectly complemented the company’s nationwide reputation as an innovative provider of project solutions.

He took an innovative approach to the photo shoot creating original images for use in the new website.

Friends in high places

Professional squash player, Ashley Davies, who is sponsored by Jigsaw DPM, recently featured at an exhibition tournament 'A Night with the Champions' at Sheffield's Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club, alongside some of the best players in the world.

At the event, Ashley was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Mohammed Elshorbagy, 2nd right in the picture (number 2 in the world) Nick Matthew, far right (current World Champion, Commonwealth Gold Medallist and world number 3) and Laura Massaro, far left (current World Champion, Commonwealth Gold Medallist and world number 2).

The exhibition tournament was organised to raise money for Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club to host a PSA event next year. It also provided Ashley with invaluable experience of playing with the elite!

Sharp designs for Doncaster Laser Services

Our multidisciplinary service and demand for quality has helped us to deliver a contemporary range of marketing materials for Doncaster Laser Services, including a novel folder design and service information sheets.

We worked closely with the customer to produce copy that accurately reflected their capabilities and to develop a look and feel that represented them as a modern company, able to stand out from the competition. Clever use of die cutting allowed us to showcase strong imagery from Doncaster Laser Services.

We also used our network of suppliers to source high-quality printing and finishing at a competitive price, much to the delight of Nic McDermott, Sales and Marketing Manager at Doncaster Laser Services: “We really love the finished product – many thanks to you and the rest of the Jigsaw team for your continued help and support with this project!”

Digitally savvy firms lead the way

Digital marketing and social media sites are rapidly transforming the way business is carried out meaning small firms are in danger of being left behind.

The UK Business Digital Index recently revealed that three quarters of small businesses and charities surveyed were not investing in digital skills and only half had their own website. It comes on top of the fact that eight out of 10 customers are said to be more likely to buy in the future based on a brand’s presence on social media.

Jigsaw’s Mark Shipley explained: “Customers expect to find businesses on the web and if they don’t instantly find online the business they are looking for then they are sure to find an alternative solution right there.”

Using regular E-shots and linking to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest not only increases brand awareness but can also be used to drive customers to the company website. Targeting different platforms can make a big difference to how businesses market themselves.

“Digital marketing can be very powerful in boosting business,” added Mark. “If done effectively it can be a simple way of reaching out to a much larger audience and raising awareness.”

Jigsaw supports local squash talent

At Jigsaw, we like to be the best. We also like to be associated with the best. That’s why we are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of  professional squash star, Ashley Davies, is now in its second year.

Still only 19 years of age, Ashley is already well known on the national and international squash circuit, and has  numerous European national titles and accolades to his name, as well as Derbyshire County Champion 14 times, at all age groups, 8 times East Midlands Area Champion and British Under 17 National Champion. He is the only British player to have reached a British Junior Open Final (the squash equivalent of Wimbledon) since Joe Lee, now a top fifty ranked player, in 2006, when he was the runner up in the competition in 2012.

Ashley has played and won as part of the England Team, and has been ranked European No 1 and England No 2 (in different age groups).

Currently based in Chorley, Lancashire, the Chesterfield-born sensation is coached by Danny Massaro (husband of Laura Massaro, World Champion and World womens No 2) and in Harrogate by David Pearson, ex England head of Coaching and coach to 2 World Champions.

Ashley has also been mentored since he was 13 by Sheffield’s - 3 times World and 6 times British Champion Nick Matthew

Ashley is already making his mark on the international scene, having won 2 Professional Squash Association (PSA) tour events, and competed in America, Malaysia, and Portugal, with trips to Spain, Gibraltar, and Egypt coming up.

Ashley competes in numerous leagues for different clubs - the North West Premier Squash League for the Northern club in Manchester, the Yorkshire Premier League for Abbeydale Park, the Derbyshire Premier League for Brampton Manor and the PSL National Squash League for three-times National Champions, Benz Bavarian Duffield. He also competes in the Italian National League for Padova 2001.

Trevor Davies, Ashley’s Dad and Manager says, “Ashley is incredibly head strong, focused and ambitious. He’s already ranked at 220 in the world after his first full year playing as a professional on the PSA tour, and plans to break into the top 150 by this time next year. He only has one goal to be ranked in the top 10 before he is 25 and emulate, or better his mentor, Nick Matthew.”

Jigsaw’s Mark Shipley adds, “We recognise talent when we see it, and we believe that Ashley will go far. We hope that by supporting Ashley, we can help him realise his dreams and achieve the potential he clearly has.”

So look out for Ashley in the future, whether that’s on the PSA tour, at future Commonwealth Games or even at the Olympics, should squash become an Olympic sport.

All professional sport is expensive to compete in, especially if you want to reach the top. Ability and determination isn’t always enough. If anyone feels they would like to get involved and support a young talented athlete and help him achieve his ambition, however small the contribution. Then please feel free to contact Ash direct at http://www.agdsquash.co.uk/

The importance of accuracy

The importance of accuracy

You undoubtedly pride yourself on your attention to detail and the quality of your workmanship - so do we! And we like this to be reflected in everything that we do, whether that’s a print job that we produce or the copy on our website.

You can really make a good impression simply by avoiding spelling mistakes on your documents, or by using dynamic text that really engages your customers. We know that writing isn’t everyone’s strength, so why not let us take the pressure off and help you produce writing that works for you and your audience.

We’ll take your ideas and produce the copy, or work on your text to tighten it up and make it engaging. Get in touch if you’d like us to help.

Integration for an easier life

Integration for an easier life

Having the time to put together and execute an integrated marketing plan is a luxury that few small businesses can afford. Therefore marketing activity is sporadic, ad hoc and often reactive, and as anyone in the marketing industry will tell you, this approach is rarely effective.

You may wonder where you are going to find the time to develop your marketing plan, but you are not alone. At Jigsaw, we have the experience to help you bring together your ideas on how to promote your products and how to target the right people so you can be sure that your marketing budget is being spent effectively.

We bring together digital and print seamlessly, tailored to meet your needs and budget - these things don’t have to cost the earth. We’ve helped all sorts of companies, including Jenx, The Flow Group, Gems Hygiene and Constellation Lighting. Check out our testimonials to see what people are saying about us.

An integrated approach for Constellation Lighting

By working with Constellation Lighting, we've been helping to raise the profile of LED lighting and demonstrate the financial and environmental benefits that can be achieved.

They've employed our copywriting and photography services to produce case study material describing their projects with major international brands such as Delice de France, the bakery, and Hermes, the distribution company, with much of this material being repurposed for e-newsletters and web pages.

We've used our bespoke email marketing software to produce and distribute targeted email campaigns, and we've just set to work on designing and printing a newspaper to help promote the projects that Constellation have been working on and the technology used.

We're really impressed by what LED lighting has to offer - reduced energy usage, more effective distribution of light, a better quality of light leading to a nicer working environment, and so on, and it's great to see a UK company, especially one local to us, leading the way in the development of this technology. Anyone interested in seeing what all the fuss is about should head down to Sustainability Live at the NEC, Birmingham between 1 and 3 April. Constellation Lighting are on stand L19.

Email marketing success for Gems Hygiene

We've been working with Gems Hygiene for a year now, putting together a number of successful email marketing campaigns. We have created an HTML template that allows us to drop in text and pictures and helped Gems to build up and manage their email contact database, making sure that their messages are getting through to the right people.

The emails campaigns are managed through our own system, meaning that we have full control of distribution and monitoring campaign metrics, such as open rates and click-through rates.

We have developed several campaigns with Gems to help build brand awareness and promote specific services and have been able to demonstrate to Gems where these campaigns have aided their business and used results to refine further campaigns.

We're thrilled to say that, such is Gems confidence in our system, they have agreed to continue to use our service for the next 12 months.

If you want to find out more about our range of services, follow the links at the top of the page.

Champion Ashley

Following a difficult 12 months for Ashley Davies due to injury he is now back to winning ways. The weekend of 23rd November saw Ashley pick up the winners trophy At the Porto Cup in Portugal. Let this be the start of a successful campaign over the next 12 months and beyond.
